Rayen castle or citadel sits in the southeast of Kerman in themidway of Mahan and Bam.Covering a 20000 square meters ground makes it the biggest adobe building after Bam citadel. There is a 10 meters high bailey around the castle. This castle has only one entrance which is in the eastern side and leads into the inner part through a tremendous gate. It passes some east to west allays and leads to a small and octagonal crossroad which has four beautiful buildings in its four sides. They seem to be the governors' houses at its time.
